Thoughts on the way from Brienz to Interlaken

Diary of the Pilgrim James

Like the Greek hero Hercules, I stand at a crossroads: Do I walk left or right of Lake Brienz to Interlaken? On sunny days, the left bank path offers me the pleasant shade a hiker craves in the heat. Or do I take the path along the right bank of the lake, through the cozy villages where I can meet people. But I could also take the water and, like the more affluent pilgrims of old, take a boat from Brienz to Interlaken? My feet wouldn't mind the hour-long rest...

Food for thought

“I experience Lake Brienz, nestled deep between the mountains, as a place of peace and contemplation.”

Find your way home when evening falls, reflect on the essence that rests within your soul to bless you with healing powers. Find your way home when evening falls, home to yourself.
