Thoughts on the way from Moudon to Lausanne
From the diary of the pilgrim James
Before me stretches the ridge I must climb to reach the shores of Lake Geneva. But the ascent is steady and rather gentle. As a now experienced pilgrim, this is a "Sunday hike" on my pilgrimage across Switzerland.
Chalet-à-Gobet rewards me with a stunning view of Lake Geneva and the French Alps. And I allow myself the luxury of boarding a bus to Lausanne. I can't get enough of the view and head to the cathedral for another impressive view of the city and the lake. Three more stages, and I'll have crossed Switzerland. Will I continue then – through France to Spain, all the way to Santiago de Compostela? Perhaps even together with Fritz Huber? Who knows, maybe Sarah Berger and others might join us...

For reflection on the way
«I talk to people along the way and only now realize that I have actually already crossed the now audible language barrier. Aren't there still old but also new boundaries that have to be crossed today - even when we talk about globalization?
Turn your face to the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.
African proverb
No harm will come to you, and nothing will trouble you. You will not be hurt, nor will you bruise your foot on the stones in your path. Your God will protect you with the wings of his angels. Under their wings you will flee from the terror of the night, and under their wings you will hide from the arrows of the day. For God has given his angels charge over you, to guard you, to surround you, and never to forsake you on every path of life.
