Thoughts on the way from Rueggisberg to Schwarzenburg
From the diary of the pilgrim James
This is just what I needed! Rain!!! Of course, I've brought a raincoat. But the cold and wet still creep into my limbs. No, this isn't how I imagined pilgrimage! I turn back; the route ends at the next bus stop or train station. I thought I'd be able to gaze out at the unique Swiss Alps from the monastery ruins in Rüeggisberg. Instead, I'm surrounded by fog, rain, and cold.

Monastery ruins
Food for thought
"The ruins of the former Rüeggisberg monastery make me think; they tell of earlier monastic life and remain a witness to a living faith today."
The Ladder to Heaven:
Jacob had a dream in Haran: He saw a stairway on the earth that reached to heaven. Angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the Lord stood above and said, "I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I am with you; I will keep you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have fulfilled what I have promised you." Jacob awoke and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place!"
