Thoughts on the way from Thun to Amsoldingen

From the diary of the pilgrim James

As he leaves the small town of Thun, Klaus the pilgrim from East Germany wonders where the inevitable changes of time are still evident in this "museum-like" city center. Thankfully, Thun was spared war and other political turmoil...
He is particularly enthusiastic about the frescoes in the Scherzligen church, which were lovingly restored not so long ago.
We stand together in the crypt of the basilica in Amsoldingen, drink the water provided and leave a small message on the “pilgrim board”.

For reflection on the way

"Today I was particularly successful in letting go of something and feeling at ease as a searching pilgrim. I lingered in peace and contemplation in the dim basilica in Amsoldingen and am grateful."

Air and light heal, and rest heals, but the best balm is a kind heart.

Upon those who say, "Our Lord is God," and then act righteously, the angels descend: "Do not fear, nor grieve, but rejoice in the Paradise you are promised. We are your friends in this life and the Hereafter. You will have therein what your souls desire, and you will have therein what you deserve: a refuge from the Forgiving and Merciful."
Quran, Sura 41f
