Thoughts on the way from Werthenstein to Willisau

Pilgrim James on the way

The hills gently roll through Lucerne's hinterland. A light rain begins to fall, accompanying me on my way to Willisau. While I would prefer dry weather, I accept what can't be changed. A hot bowl of soup in the small town of Willisau will compensate for the wet weather. And the company of another pilgrim, Adrian Brunner, provides further material for discussion.

Something to think about along the way

"In the hamlet of Büel, I am asked to remain silent. I remain silent, and a soothing silence surrounds me."

Give yourself a breather for your soul out of responsibility for a more humane world. Meditate on the trees, because they show you true growth and maturation. Store your talents in the bank of pause as a strength of resilience for the unique dignity of every human being. Trust in the power of your existence, because God's name is: "I am here!" Be silent and listen to the silence to strengthen the power of peace throughout the world.
